Nice Vac, Great Price, Weak Belts
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
So far i really like everything about this vacuum except for the fact that the belt broke after using it only 3 times. The belts were not easy to come by locally, i just happened to find some on clearance at Target. Replacement took about 5 minutes and was easy enough, i just think it was ridiculous that it lasted such a short time. If not for that, this would have gotten a 5 star review.

VacuumSucker
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This vacuum is very loud and does not work. The accessory attachment holder broke within the first month. We had a Hoover for about 15 yrs and it worked great. Pardon the pun but this vacuum sucks and not in a good way.

OK Vacuum, Messy to Clean
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I have owned this vacuum for about three years and use it every week. I have three cats and with a lot of determination I can get the cat hair up from carpets and furniture (but it is a lot of work.) However, my major complaint with this vacuum is cleaning the canister. This is my first bagless, so I don't know if this is a common issue, but emptying out the canister will cause dust to fly everywhere. I have learned to strategically place the canister completely inside a large garbage bag before I tip it out. This minimizes the dust flying, but it still gets on me and then the counter from the empty canister. It's such an unpleasant chore, that I am seriously considering going back to bags, even with the inconvenience of having to always have them on hand.

Defective right from the Start
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
The vacuum seemed like it would fit my needs, but I will never know. It's sitting, repacked with all the parts and screws and paperwork inside the box - along with the extra bags I purchased - waiting for UPS to pick it up and deliver it back to AMAZON. The vacuum did not work. It has a beater brush - agitator - which is supposed to spin when the vacuum is in carpet position. Guess what? You got it. The bar did not spin. When I followed the directions to see if perhaps it wasn't set up right, the belt - which was supplied and in the machine when I got it - didn't connect with the rest of the machine. The machine also rattled like crazy and did not feel solid. I would have let that go if the machine worked. Big disappointment. So now I wait for UPS to pick up, Amazon to get it, and credits to come back to me. What an unnecessary hassle. Surprised because Amazon usually is a lot better than this.

teejay
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Very high quality construction, strong suction, "dirt finder light" very handy though it doesn't seeem to be as sensitive as the one on my 10 year old hoover. I would recommend this product especially at the current pricing.

Very Disappointed
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought this vacuum 8 months ago after careful consideration of reviews online, as well as Consumer Reports. I have an average household with children, 2 cats, and a low-ish pile carpet due to dust allergies in the family. This Hoover Wind Tunnel model worked oh so well for the first 1-2 months. After that, I was unclogging it every time I went to use it. I had to pull it outside to unclog it every use because the clogs were so bad, they made huge messes-then the vacuum would not clean the mess after I unclogged each time! I replaced bags a 1/4 full. I finally called Hoover for a rerfund under warranty and they would not even talk to me without taking it to a service dealer. The service dealer unclogged it, and Hoover refused to refund saying I could unclog it at home and I had the "wrong carpet"!!!!! There is nothing abnormal about my carpet!

The warranty states "normal household use" - and only carpet fuzz and cat hair clogged it every time I used it! I am now stuck with a piece of junk and $160 loss. My previous $99 Hoover lasted 20 years! Very disappointed in the lack of customer service and lack of quality from Hoover.

Hoover hard to handle
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This Hoover was purchased because Consumners Reports recommended it. It does a fine job cleaning carpets including the edges of wall to wall as well as hardwood floors. The cleaning attachments are stored on the vacuum which is convenient. The vacuum is heavy and bulky. It would be unmoveable if it were not self-propelled but with the self-propel Hoover U6485900 Windtunnel Anniversary Self-Propelled Bagged Upright Vacuum Cleanerfeature on or off it is difficult to maneuver around furniture. I'd like to think there is a vacuum out there that does the job but is easier to handle.

Best vacuum
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have another wind tunnel by Hoover and love it. They have improved it by being able to empty from the bottom instead of the top. It picks up cat hair really well and the red and green lights show what needs more vacuuming. It's definitely an improved model and I recommend it.

This is a disposable vacuum - don't expect it to last
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
We bought this vacuum from Amazon in September 2008 based on the many favorable reviews. We were initially very satisfied with its performance. However, after 15 months of normal household use and just after the warranty period expired, this vacuum cleaner started producing a grinding noise and clouds of acrid smoke. I took the vacuum apart and checked for any obstructions. Everything was clear and the roller and original belt were fine. I tested the motor again with no load and it immediately started smoking and grinding.

An $80.00 vacuum that lasts only 15 months is an expensive proposition. If you decide to buy this model, understand that you are taking a gamble with your 80 bucks.
