The dust cup is Way Too Small! Think twice about this one unless you only want to vacuum Doll Houses.

I bought this vac because of the power and the warranty. I was tired of buying a new “other brand” every other year. however, this one is very awkward to hold because it is back-heavy. the nozzle is small and it constantly gets clogged. it’s more of a pain to use than it is helpful. I will NOT buy this again.

I had a B&D dustbuster which was purchased two years ago. The batteries would only now hold a charge for about 5 minutes before giving out. Since they were not replaceable I sought out a hand vac with replaceable batteries. The Hoover had fairly good ratings, so I bought one. My first experience with it is an absolute zero. It clogged within seconds of its first use. I had drilled a hole in plaster and attempted to clear the debris. After a few seconds it did nothing. It took 4 dumping and cleanings to clear the debris from a single one inch hole of plaster dust.

I will return the vac. In similar situations the Dustbuster was far superior. It is unfortunate though that B&D chose to use non replaceable batteries. As far as suction goes overall, the Hoover is very limp on comparison.

It may have a better battery, but don’t waste your money on this premium priced product.

    Great sucker! And battery!

What a difference it is to have this vacuum vs a little, weak Black & Decker model we suffered with for years. This one has great power and battery longevity, even when it’s been stored in the cupboard for awhile. My only regret is not getting the floor model with the longer handle. My husband likes this model, though, so he’ll help as needed (another plus!) Really like the ergonomic style that’s also sleek and clean-looking. And we like that only the battery needs to be on the counter, not the whole vacuum. Very satisfied with this purchase!

this vac works great and gives good results,i use to have to run to the nearest gas station to vacuim the car not anymore and then around the corner it was a $1.50 and to use the 50cents machines i would have to drive farrrrrrrrrr and using the vacuim without a cord it is a plus for me,im a paraplegic the cord would just get in my way,now the price was a bit high but is well worth it,but the unit is rechargable.

So far, great little hand vac
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was a bit hesitant to order this, been so disapointed in dust busters over the years, all end up in the trash and the dirt handling is terrible.

On this little gizmo though, it appears that Hoover really started from scratch and built a hand vac to work, and to last.

The power provided by the 18v LIon battery is fantastic, I’m stunned how quickly it collects particles I don’t even see on the floor.

Also, there were some comments that the flip out nozzle is bad. In my opinion, certainly, it’s made from plastic so if you’re a gorilla and want to force things, you can break it, that’s what happens to hinges when you have leverage as your mechanical advantage. That being said, if you work the click locking mechanism as it’s intended to work, it’s fantastic. Point being, if you give this to a dullard or your 8 year old boy, you will probably end up with the flip out brush nozel extension broken, but that does not need to happen nor should it. If somehow it does, the unit is still totally operable, you would just have to keep the little extension seperate and plug it in to the nozzle end when needed.

I love this little power house hand held. Only major test left to do is the washing of the reusable filter plate for the dust collection cup. It looks like it will work well but if I have any noteworthy points, I’ll check back in and update this review.

Not as Good as my old Black & Decker
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
My old Black & Decker cordless vac, PHV1800 died on me and when I went to replace it I was told it had been discontinued which now I’m not sure is true since it’s still listed on their website. So I decided to “upgrade” a little and purchased this Hoover from Amazon for twice the price of the B&D. Although the removable chargeable battery is a nice feature (for other Hoover products yet to come) I prefer the old way of just docking the vac in it’s stand while the whole thing is plugged in. Solves the storage problem. This a pain to store; it rolls on it’s side and falls off of things. But this power pack is replaceable..the B&D was not easily replaceable. They are both 18 volt, but this seems less powerful. When the power is “up” it just shuts off (after about 15 minutes, not enough to do corners & floors on the first floor of my small house), unlike the B&D which would continue (at less power) for a little while longer. It is less noisy though. It is not as easy to maneuver into tight spaces…the extension nozzle is not long enough and does not stay in place. The dust removal “can” is also hard to remove as it’s too wide for most female hands to twist. I have to get my husband to do that. Maybe I should get him to do all of it!!

two months use: so far, outstanding
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve been using this lithium battery powered handheld for about two months now, and find it an excellent product: good suction, light weight, well balanced in the hand, easy to clean, fast charging. Given the four-year vacuum warranty and two-year guarantee on battery and charger, I expect this to turn out to be a good choice in the long run.

    Great!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
So far, so good. The battery lasts a long time. The suction is powerful. It’s lightweight enough and designed well so that it’s easy to carry around. It’s also easy to empty, as well as to clean the filter. The noise level isn’t too high - it doesn’t bother my sensitive cat who usually runs from vacuum sounds. The battery is easy to remove and put in. I like that I can store the vacuum anywhere without worrying about how to plug it in for recharging. The brush attachment is difficult to keep in place, but so far that is the only problem I’ve had with the vacuum. Held in place (or using a rubberband as was suggested), the brush is effective. I would buy another one.

Excellent battery life & suction. Poor design.
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Overall, this is an excellent handheld vaccuum that does the job. Let’s face it, the most important criteria when evaluating any handheld vaccuum are suction power, battery life, & ease of cleaning. Well, this unit cleans well, the lithion battery is terrific, and emptying debris doesn’t get any easier. I would give this a 5 star rating if the design wasn’t so poor. The folding brush attachment does not stay extended when vaccuuming. I am constantly adjusting the brush attachment so that gets annoying. Also, the ergonamics are awkward. Maybe it’s just me, but my wrist and hands get sore when using for extended periods. I’ve heard the same feedback from other users. When I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was the poor design. Nevertheless, our little fammily uses this vaccuum every day and boy does it clean!

    Hoover BH50015 Cordless
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Unbelievably noisy but sucks well (sorry).

Devoid of useful attachments, except for a built-in nozzle that will break off soon.

Battery life is good, but you have to remove it to charge it, which is annoying, but I imagine they expect you to use a single battery for multiple units.

Conclusion - flawed but useful. And expensive.

Good hand vac, long lasting battery
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I have both the LINX cordless upright and the hand held vacuum. As a result I have 2 batteries and always have enough charge to get anything completed. One would be sufficient though. The hand-held vacuum is easy to use, there is a light to indicate how much battery charge is left. It is relatively straightforward to empty without a mess and the filter seems to prevent the exhaust from kicking out too much dust.

On the con side it has a little flip up brush feature that flips back closed when I use it on the car floor mats, it can’t handle much pressure and must be constantly readjusted or held in place to vacuum carpet.

Would recommend, it is expensive compared to other vacuums but the rechargeable battery stand is excellent and relatively slick looking with a blue recharge light. The battery slides easily in the recharge stand and makes for no excuses on getting the vacuum out to clean something up.

I bought this item for my wife because she has the stick vac and battery life is horrible. She wanted another battery, which is $70 on it’s own. So, for a few more bucks, I got the hand vac as well. It surprises me how well this things picks up. We use it for small spills and in the cars. Good purchase.

We do have the Hoover Platinum Collection LINX Cordless Vacuum… It is GREAT.. Now trying to decide if we should get the HANDHELD.. I know that I want it, but still waiting for it to get a little closer to $100… then we WILL buy it.. I love my Hoover Platinum Vac…

    The battery is the best
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This is an OK vacuum. A bit expensive but I would probably buy it again for the convenience and the long-life battery. I also have the standup model and the batteries interchange.

Don’t care for their fold down brush. It keeps collapsing.

I have small hands and find it difficult to open the dirt collector. Have to sit down and do it with two hands.

The unit is easy to hold and not too noisy.
