RV-10 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner Review

The RV-10 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner was introduced in the beginning of 2000 and improved along the way. In general, robotic vacuum cleaners move randomly about the home, cleaning as they go. Some of the models even clear their own dust containers. It boasts a few features that others in its class don't have at all. In the area of household and industrial cleaning, this is a fantastic development.

Pros

• It will clean almost any surface in the home. This little robotic vacuum cleans wood, carpet, tile and linoleum with great results, as opposed to some robotic cleaners that are effective on only one or two surfaces.

• Several settings are available for your convenience. There are two cleaning settings from which to choose. It can be set for a time frame of about 20 minutes for smaller, light jobs. It also has a setting called MAX minutes. Basically this means you can leave it run until it needs to recharge.

• Remote control capability gives the owner control over the vacuum for cleaning specific areas, if desired.

• Perhaps the most unique and handy feature is that it is programmed to return on its own to recharge (it is a self-charger)! Other robotic vacuums require the owner to physically place it on a charger.

• Light sensors enable it to roam freely and not get stuck or lost under beds or sofas. If it senses a dark place, it backs away from the area as it would a wall or other obstacle. This is convenient for the owner since they don't need to continually dislodge it from underneath furniture.

• It also contains sensors that will prevent it from falling down a set of stairs.

• It has a diameter of thirteen inches, is very light and can clean a nice large swath as it moves about the home.

• It can actually detect dirt and then go clean it up.

Cons

• It's important to note that just like a corded vacuum; this one is pretty loud and wouldn't allow for much activity that requires listening while it is running.

• As it moves about, it bumps into furniture, etc., which might make some homeowners uncomfortable. This action also adds to the noise level.

Overall, the RV-10 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is a convenient, relatively maintenance-free machine that does a great job on several household surfaces while the homeowner goes about other tasks in the home.
